Our Areas of Ministry-



Community Services- Community Services helps to provide for the needs of those in our community. If you would like to be involved in this ministry, have needs or questions - please contact our church office- 515-285-6245.

Health Ministry- Currently Suspended due to pandemic. Our current health ministry is C.H.I.P. - Complete Health Improvement Program. This program is designed to provide education and training about health and lifestyle to our church members and our community. The Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP) - formerly Coronary Health Improvement Project - is an affordable, lifestyle enrichment program designed to reduce disease risk factors through the adoption of better health habits and appropriate lifestyle modifications. The goal is to lower blood cholesterol, hypertension, and blood sugar levels and reduce excess weight. This is done by improving dietary choices, enhancing daily exercise, increasing support systems and decreasing stress, thus aiding in preventing and reversing disease. Men's Ministries- This ministry currently provides our Mother's Day Brunch, a weekly basketball group and other outings. Please come join us! Check our Calendar for scheduled events. Our current leader is Ron Karr. His contact number is 515-975-0749.

Prison Ministry- We are one of two Seventh-day Adventist churches currently involved in ministry at a local prison. The prison ministry includes correspondence and visiting with inmates. There is a need for volunteers! You could help support their desire to study the Bible. If you are interested in being involved please contact the church office at 515-285-6245.

Radio Ministry- We have a Christian FM Radio Station in Des Moines broadcasting the good news about Jesus! It is KPOG (Power of God) 102.9 FM. Around Town Mobile Food Pantry- is a ministry supported by the areas Seventh-day Adventist Churches- We are one of only two food pantries in the Des Moines metro area that delivers food to people's homes due to disabilities or lack of transportation.  We do this on the second Tuesday of each month and we also hand out food on the 3rd Sunday in downtown Des Moines.  For assistance people may call the number below and those who would be interested in helping to pack or deliver food may also contact us at this number 515-635-5480.

Young Adult Ministry- Our official Young Adult ministry for the Des Moines SDA Church is "Just Jesus"! This movement started at Union College in Lincoln,NE. The movement has spread to other parts of the county. "Just Jesus" is a ministry that empowers young adults to connect, grow and reach out to those who desire to know a man named Jesus. Grounded. Growing. Going. If you are in Des Moines or the surrounding area we want YOU to come and fellowship with us! Let's create something meaningful! Let's experience Just Jesus! Currently this group is not meeting- 2021.

Youth Clubs- Enjoy backpacking? Biking? Canoeing? Caving? Camping? Want to be an active young Christian on an adventure with friends who love Jesus? Then join Pathfinders. Club members enjoy club meetings, camping, and service adventures designed to develop Christ-like citizens.  Pathfinders is a youth group for ages 10-17 yrs or 5th-12th grade.  Typically we meet every other Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm during the school year. This group is not available at this time- Adventures- meets to learn the love of Jesus through crafting, singing and by being active. This club meets every other Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. during the school year. This is a great way to prepare for the next step...Pathfinders! If this sounds like something your children (ages 7-9) would enjoy we would love to have them join us!

This group is not available at this time - Eager Beavers- ages 4-6 years. This group usually meets every other Wednesday during the school year from 6-7 p.m.. There are many fun things planned for your little ones! They will meet to make friends, crafting, earning chips and learning about Jesus' love for each of us. Hope to see you there!
